Ricardo "Rick" Hicks - Pottery

 

Rick is a master potter and artisan.  He began training in pottery in 2006 and served as an apprentice instructor under Howard Hartke, continuously expanding his skill and teaching knowledge in wheel throwing, hand building, clay types, trimming, firing, (including Horsehair and Raku), design, texture, sculpting, and glazing.  He enjoys passing his knowledge onto others, watching them grow and mastering new  techniques.

POTTERY HANDBUILD & WHEEL – All Levels   

Work on your individual pottery projects using the wheel, hand building techniques, or a combination of the two.  Learn tips and tricks to make your pottery adventure an easy one.  Class includes critiquing and individual assistance.  Up to 25 pounds of clay, glazing and firing ($60 value) included. Pottery tools available for $15.

6 Weeks - 10 Spaces, Wednesday, 1pm-4pm  & 6pm-9pm

POTTERY HAND BUILD: BIG & TALL  

Learn the basics of pottery hand building using pinch, coil and slab construction with a focus on creating  larger pieces using clay and your hands. Create pottery pieces to build skill and technique and continue building your skills in an Intermediate+ class.  Class includes up to 25 pounds of clay, glazing and firing ($60 Value).  Must have basic pottery tools - available for $15.

Beginner:  6 Weeks - 10 Spaces, Thursday, 1pm-4pm  

Intermediate+: 6 Weeks - 10 Spaces, Thursday 9am-12pm
