Draw & Paint with Pommier - INTRODUCTION TO PASTELS (All Levels)

Learn about Pastels with Laura Pommier at the Visual Arts Center (VAC). There's no better medium than pastel for feeling at one with your ideas and relating your experience. If you are a beginning artist or one who would like to further master this medium, join me! Focus on your individual needs as you develop specialized drawing skills and learn basic drawing techniques using pastels. This class is designed for beginners. Laura will help you with value, form, color, line, texture and composition. 

Supplies:

  • Set of Richeson Soft Handrolled Pastels, Color Wheel, Primary, set of 20 Or comparable high-quality pastels.
  • Pastel Paper (I use Canson Mi-Teintes, 9x12, toned paper)
  • Kneaded Eraser
  • Medium size, old, stiff paint brush to make corrections.
  • Wet wipes.

INTRODUCTION TO PASTELS - All Levels: $120 ($96 VAC Member)

4 WEEK CLASS:  Thursday, 9am-12pm

Class Sessions:  Class meets once each week for 3 hours and is offered in 4-weekly sessions.

 Registration: Please register early. Classes with less than five registered students may be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance of the start date.  Cancellation notifications are made by email and/or telephone (including voice messages) to the email address and telephone number on file. Please check your voice mail and email prior to leaving for class. 

Registration closes 72 hours prior to start date.. If you have difficulty registering online, please call the VAC at 941-639-8810), or email info@visualartcenter.org and someone will help you.

CLASS REFUND POLICY

Class tuition is fully refundable, less a non-refundable reservation deposit of $25 ($20 VAC Member) up until 30 days prior to class. An Education Credit (less a non-refundable deposit) may be issued towards a future class between 29 days and 10 days prior to class start. All fees become non-refundable 9 days prior to class start unless the class is cancelled by the VAC.
