Study Oil Painting with Margaret Egli. Learning to paint in the Neo-Impressionistic style is easy! Learn the easy steps of oil painting in this style, including, how to create on a flat surface: three dimensions, distance, depth, light, and shadow. Your canvass becomes a fascinating and colorful impression. Learn short cuts to painting in oil; ways to make a catching composition; handling your paints, mixing and storing your own colors, using energy between contrasting colors reflected light to your advantage and much more. The goal is not to impose a style, but to enhance yours, enabling you to discover talents that can only be realized with painting. Theory plus demonstration. For your convenience, the Visual Arts Center offers an Oil Supply Kit with professional quality items from the VAC Art & Supply Store at a discounted price of $87, an estimated value of $195 based on Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Pricing (MSRP). Purchase an oil class kit online (click here), by phone or in person at the VAC Front Desk. Your Kit will be waiting for you on your first day of class. Additional supplies can be purchased individually from the VAC Art & Supply Store.
OIL PAINTING IN THE NEO-IMPRESSIONIST STYLE: $150 ($120 VAC Member)
Wednesdays, 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Session: Class meets once each week for 3 hours and is offered in 6-week sessions for $150 (VAC Members $120).
All class dates and times are subject to change. Classes with a start date within 30 days require payment in full to reserve a place. Prepaid class fees (paid more than 30 days in advance) are refundable less a non-refundable reservation deposit of $25 (VAC Members $20) up until 30 days prior to a class start date at which time all class fees become non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the VAC.
Please register early. Classes with less than five registered students may be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance of the start date. Cancellation notifications are made by email and/or telephone (including voice messages) to the email address and telephone number on file. Please check your voice mail and email prior to leaving for class.
