Draw & Paint with Beech - WATERCOLOR BEGINNER

Study watercolor techniques with Jim Beech at the Visual Arts Center (VAC). Classes will begin with basic art concepts and a review of drawing, color, design and techniques. Weekly demonstrations and practice of fundamentals, including the use of shortcuts, photos and watercolor techniques. The final weeks will be a student project of your choice.

Class Supply List

Class Sessions:  Class meets once each week for 3 hours and is offered in 6-weekly sessions. 

For your convenience, the Visual Arts Center offers a Watercolor Class Supply Kit with professional quality items from the VAC Art & Supply Store at a discounted price of $85, an estimated $159 value based on Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Pricing (MSRP). (MSRP).  Purchase a watercolor class kit online (click here), by phone or in person at the VAC Front Desk. Your kit will be waiting for you on your first day of class. Additional supplies can be purchased individually from the VAC Art & Supply Store.

Registration: Registration closes 72 hours prior to start date. If you miss the start date, email info@visualartcenter.org and ask to join mid-session. Please register and reserve your space online so we can send you instructions and video links. If you have difficulty registering online, please call the VAC at 941-639-8810 (10am and 2pm, Monday through Friday), or email info@visualartcenter.org and someone will help you.

All class dates and times are subject to change. Classes with a start date within 30 days require payment in full to reserve a place. Prepaid class fees (paid more than 30 days in advance) are refundable less a non-refundable reservation deposit of $25 (VAC Members $20) up until 30 days prior to a class start date at which time all class fees become non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the VAC.  

Please register early. Classes with less than five registered students may be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance of the start date.  Cancellation notifications are made by email and/or telephone (including voice messages) to the email address and telephone number on file. Please check your voice mail and email prior to leaving for class.
