Glass with Duke - FUSED GLASS (All Levels)

Learn Fused Glass with Janie Duke at the Visual Arts Center (VAC). This glass class is for those who have never worked in glass before or those wanting to work on their own projects.  Make a small bowl or plate. Learn the basics: types of glass, tools and learning to cut glass. Design and form are discussed and learn what glass does as it warms in the kiln and how it affects your finished piece.

If you are experienced in glass, familiar with the VAC Glass Studio, and want to work in the studio on your own project while instruction is going on for beginer students, you are welcome to participate. 

Students must wear closed-toe shoes to class. $60 of materials, supplies and tax included. First time students will need to purchase a tool kit for $75.

FUSED GLASS: $225 ($180 VAC Member) includes $60 of materials with sales tax.

Does not include glass for individual student projects which can be purchased in the VAC Art Supply Store. Only glass purchased at the VAC may be fired in the VAC Kiln.  Includes firing for 1 project per class session.  Additional firings are available for $5 per item if space is available in the kiln.

Session: Class meets once each week for 3 hours and is offered in 6-week sessions for $225 (VAC Members $180) and includes $60 of materials with sales tax.

All class dates and times are subject to change. Classes with a start date within 30 days require payment in full to reserve a place. Prepaid class fees (paid more than 30 days in advance) are refundable less a non-refundable reservation deposit of $30 (VAC Members $25) up until 30 days prior to a class start date at which time all class fees become non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the VAC.  

Please register early. Classes with less than five registered students may be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance of the start date.  Cancellation notifications are made by email and/or telephone (including voice messages) to the email address and telephone number on file. Please check your voice mail and email prior to leaving for class.
