Master Workshop with Abgott - DARING COLOR (Watercolor)

Join Ann Abgott in an exciting 2-day workshop, Daring Color, at the Visual Arts Center (VAC). Great for all levels, beginners to advanced. You will learn some amazing techniques in values, wet-into-wet painting, mingling color, and much more. You will also spend time focusing on catching light, shadows, and reflections.

Students must come to the workshop with an image lightly drawn on watercolor paper. You may work from Anne’s photos which will be available after registration, or work from a similar photo of your own. This workshop is packed full of information, so having the image drawn on watercolor paper will free up valuable time.

Visual Arts Center day-long workshops include Lunch. Workshop photo & materials list will be provided upon registration.

You may pay in full at the time you register or reserve your space with a non-refundable deposit of $45 ($36 VAC members) with the balance due 30 days prior to the Workshop.

Ann Abgott: Canadian-born Anne Abgott maintains a studio in Cortez, Florida. She is the author of the No. 1 best-selling book, "Daring Color," by North Light Publishing. She also has three videos showcasing her work and teaching skills: “Simply Daring Color” by Artist Palette Productions and two videos with Artist Network TV, also a North Light presentation. Anne is a past president of the Florida Watercolor Society, the Florida SunCoast watercolor society, and currently the president of Art Center Manatee. Anne teaches workshops and judges competitive shows all over the U.S. and Canada. She began taking images, some of which were very old, and with a computer, manipulated them to come up with exciting results that put the fire back into her painting. Anne has achieved Signature status in seven National Watercolor Societies. Anne began painting in oils as a child and was mentored by Alexander Luke, one of the premier Canadian artists. She moved to Florida in 1998 and began working in watercolor. She is very influenced by the light and color she finds in Florida, and she has honed her skills with many, many hours of painting. To learn more about Ann, visit her website at 

Deposits, Cancellations & Refunds: All workshop dates and times are subject to change. Workshops with a start date within 30 days require payment in full to reserve a place.

If the tuition for a Workshop exceeds $200, typically a space can be reserved up to 30 days prior with a non-refundable reservation deposit ranging from $45 to $60 ($36 to $48 VAC Member). If this option is available, the amount will be listed under the workshop description and will be available for space reservation online. The full balance is due 30 days prior to the workshop start date. Reservation deposits are non-refundable unless the workshop is cancelled by the VAC. Prepaid class or workshop fees (paid more than 30 days in advance) are refundable less the non-refundable reservation deposit up until 30 days prior to a class start date at which time all class and workshop fees become non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the VAC.  

Please register early. Workshops with less than five registered students may be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance of the start date.  Cancellation notifications are made by email and/or telephone (including voice messages) to the email address and telephone number on file. Please check your voice mail and email prior to leaving for class.
