Open Studios

Work on your individual project at the VAC with an Open Studio! For experienced artists, join others in small groups in VAC Pottery, Jewelry, Glass or 2D Art Studios beginning the week of September 14th to work independently on art projects. A VAC Coordinator (VAC Instructor, Advanced Student or Staff Member) will connect you to VAC resources. Join one week at a time or sign up for multiple sessions online at least 24 hours prior to each session. 8 or fewer participants per session.

Cost: 2D Open Studios are $12 per class session ($15 non-members) and Specialty Open Studios are $20 per class session ($25 non-members)

An Annual Individual VAC Membership costs $60 ($55 to renew) and will pay for itself after receiving a 20% discount on just a few classes!

Register OnlineTo reduce personal contact, please register and pay for classes online. If you have any trouble using the website to register or pay your fees, please call the VAC at 941-639-8810 (from 10am to 2pm, Monday through Friday) or email info@visualartcenter.org and someone will help you.  

You are welcome to use the full 3-hour period, or just a portion of the time, however, the fees are per session, for whatever amount of time you are there. Please do not arrive before 10:30 am and be ready to leave no later than 1:30 pm. The VAC may substitute Open Studio Session Coordinators with other Instructors, advanced students or staff members at any time without notice.

COVID-19 Precautions: Worktable separations will accommodate social distancing guidelines.  The tables will be wiped before and after each class, however, cleaning wipes will be available in each classroom. As an extra precaution, we suggest each participant wipe their space before and after use. Gloves and masks are not required but are available at the front desk for those who wish to use them. Personal hand sprays will also be available. To reduce personal contact, please register and pay for classes online. 

We encourage anyone who registers for an Open Studio Session and does not feel well to remain home and let us know. You will receive full credit for the day.
