The Visual Arts Center has a variety of paid and complimentary events year-round. To register for a paid event, please scroll to the bottom of the page and select the event box to register.

Gallery Events
- Exhibit Receptions & Award Ceremonies | Visual Arts Center Exhibits are always free and open to the public for viewing, and usually have an Artist Reception to meet, mix and mingle with exhibiting artists, and for juried shows, an awards ceremony. - National Art Exhibition (NAE): Every other year (even years), the VAC features the prestigious National Art Exhibition, a judged and juried exhibit featuring artwork from around the world, typically held in February. The NAE has many special events surrounding it, including opening night reception, award ceremony and reception, docent tours, workshops and luncheons with the judge, lunch and learn sessions about the art, an evening of art and poetry, and more. To register for an NAE special event, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the event. A box will be available once registration for the event is open. - VAC Open House | Twice each year the VAC holds an Open House where you can meet VAC Instructors, view their artwork, and plan your season of art. Typically, Open House is held the first weekend after Labor Day in September, and the first weekend in January. To learn more about the upcoming Open House, visit the Calendar of Events. - VAC Annual Meeting | Each October the VAC holds its Annual Meeting where new VAC and VAC Endowment Trust board members are elected and a presentation on the past year's activities, accomplishments and budget, as well as a look forward into plans for the next year is presented. This event is open to VAC Members and Donors. Once the date is set, it will be added to the VAC Calendar for October.
Fundraising Events
The VAC's programs cover about 70% of its operating costs, with the balance from fun events and fundraising activities. Once a fundraising event is scheduled, a box will be available below for registrations, sponsorships and donations.
- Battle of the Brushes | The premier fun and fundraising annual event is the Battle of the Brushes competition where community celebrity leaders are paired with artists to create an inspiring work of art to be auctioned at the finale dinner event to help raise funds for the VAC. Once the next Battle of the Brushes schedule is finalized, there will be a box below for event registration, sponsorship opportunities, and links to each of the community celebrities funding page.
Music & Art
The Visual Arts Center features local and regional musicians in its Galleries to bring art and music together for your enjoyment.
- Lady Z | Join Lady Z & Suncoast Swing for a fun evening of music and dancing on a Saturday evening from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Scroll below to purchase a ticket for the next available date.
Wellness & Art
- Art & The Human Brain | This popular series will be continued this upcoming season. When the next available series is scheduled, there will be a registration box at the bottom of this page.
- Tai Chi Studio | Tai chi Studio is held each Wednesday from 5:30pm to 6:30 pm and paid by the session with various payment options available. Come for one session, or join every week as Sharon Fultz leads you through a Tai Chi experience. Register online, or just drop by for any session.
