Draw & Paint with Wilson | ACRYLICS: BEYOND THE BASICS | Advanced

• Acrylic Paints - You don’t have to have the exact colors and are welcome to use what you have.  I like Golden brand acrylics, but any brand is fine.  Regular, heavy body acrylics are preferred. Professional paints have more pigment than student grade allowing for richer colors. Below are the main colors on my palette.
   
  Alizarin Crimson Hue 
  Naphthol or Pyrrole Red Medium
  Hansa Yellow Medium Opaque
  Ultramarine Blue, 
  Phthalo Blue (green shade), 
  Titanium White (large size) 
  Carbon Black
• Gesso (a white primer)
• Painting substrates:    
  watercolor paper or acrylic paper
  We will use (6) 8” x 10” and (1) 10” x 10” painting surface
• MEDIUM and RETARDER - I like the Golden mediums and retarder. 
  Regular Gloss Gel Medium
  Slow drying medium (retarder)
• Brushes and Knives - Synthetic Brushes – you are welcome to use what you have.  I like brights – #2, #4, #6 are good sizes. I like Silver Brush Bristlon All Media Brushes with the long handles
  Palette/painting knives – I prefer a metal knife because it’s more flexible than a plastic one and easier to use especially if you want to try painting with it. I like to have two of them.
• Painting Palettes - Disposable paper palettes for acrylics or freezer paper 
  Masterson Sta Wet Painting Palette (red lid option)
• Other Tools: Paper towels, Water container, Spray bottle-mister,
  Bar of soap (Ivory) or Dawn dishwashing liquid or brush cleaner, Pencil,
  Ruler, Small containers, preferably with lids - like sauce take out
