Study watercolor techniques with Joanne Stramara at the Visual Arts Center (VAC). Joanne will work with beginning watercolor artists to develop their skills by teaching the basics, while the intermediate/advanced artists will challenge themselves by learning new techniques in their watercolor journey. A reference photo and drawing will be supplied, but advanced students may have their choice of using the reference (used by Joanne as demo) or to create a painting of their own design.
Supplies:
- 140lb. Watercolor Paper (better-quality paper is best-favorite is arches cold press.)
- 1/2", 3/4", or 1" Flat Brushes
- Pencils, Erasers, Permanent
- Notebook, Masking Tape, Spray Bottle
- Gatorboard Or Something Similar To Support Paper
- Large Water Container, Paper Towels, Covered Pallet With Large Mixing Area
- Masking Fluid Or Tear Mender (Amazon)
- Daniel Smith Watercolors: Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Quin. Gold, Cobalt Turquoise, Quin. Rose, Sap Green, New Gamboge, Aureolin, Prussian Blue, Cerulean, Opera
- Mission Watercolors: Raw Sienna, Peacock, Sap Green, Permanent Red, Viridian, Van Dyke Brown, Permanent Rose, Yellow Orange, Opera
