Workshop with Johnstone | BONSAI BASICS: FROM PLANT TO ART

The workshop will be a more in-depth, hands-on class lasting approximately 2 to 2½ hours. Each participant will receive a pre-bonsai specimen to work on throughout the session.

We will begin with a PowerPoint presentation covering bonsai fundamentals, with a stronger emphasis on styling techniques, soil selection, and proper aftercare. Following the presentation, participants will apply these concepts as they shape and style their own trees.

To ensure a supportive learning environment, we will have enough assistants so that every participant receives one-on-one guidance during the process.

All necessary materials will be provided, including a plant, starter pot, soil, and tools for use during the workshop. Participants will also receive written reference materials to take home for continued learning.
